A Playground to Remember.
There are a few really great playgrounds and community centers in Calvert, but I find the King’s Landing Ropes Course playground to be almost entirely secret. This playground is fantastic for kids and adults of all ages, and really challenges kids to work together and use problem solving skills to accomplish moderate physical challenges.
Located in Huntingtown, this playground will challenge a group of kids, or adults looking to have a fun, free experience with or without kids. There’s a rope bridge, a huge platform you have to work together to balance, “the floor is lava” game, and so much more! Let the kids run wild, or pick up one of the challenge guides, located on site.
While you visit King’s Landing Park, don’t forget to save some time to walk the trails through the woods, to the fishing pier, and to the marsh.
The park is very easy to find, go straight through the four way stop on Hunting Creek Road, following the signs to King’s Landing Park. Once you go through the park gates, the ropes course is the first attraction on your left. Park by the barns across the street.
